2019 Edit: I appear to have lost these images, something I didn’t realise I had done. Oops. They weren’t very good anyway.
Who knew?
Me and Donna went to Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary which was fucking awesome albeit slightly expensive
($33 entry and $16 for a photo opportunity with a Koala). We got to hold a Koala, we saw platypus diving for crayfish (which they are surprisingly bad at, they use electrical signals to find prey when underwater because they close their eyes when they dive) and we made friends with several Kangaroos as we were allowed to enter their enclosure and feed them.

Their cuteness is how they get you |
What took me by surprise was the amount of punk/metal bands that have visited the centre and “Cuddled a Koala”
Saosin, 30 Seconds to Mars, Nine Inch Nails, Bayside, Yellowcard, As I Lay Dying, & Taking Back Sunday |
Bayside, We Are Scientists, Hinder, Escape the Fate, Dropkick Murphys |
Paramore, New Found Glory, The Wombats, & Corporate Image. |
Silversun Pickups, The Devil Wears Prada, Doobie Brothers(?), Vampire Weekend, Tim Mcgraw(?) |
Koala’s are pretty fucking hardcore, after the next guy left the Koala’s somehow massacred all of the volunteers and placed their decapatated heads onto spikes as a warning for future volunteers who think they can overthrow the Koala race.

One lesson I learned that I should probably share with you is that Kangaroos only like to be petted on their chests and on their back, anywhere else and you will probably get a talon to the throat.

These should come with a warning label |
If you’re in Brisbane you should definitely pop in a squeeze a Koala.

Shocked and dismayed that you put a “(?)” beside The Doobie Brothers!! Look up “Listen to the Music” or “Long Train Runnin”
