Every image dump is worth a thousand words
I have hundreds of thousands of images to share. However actually finding the will to share them with meaning, giving them a message. It’s a lot of effort. So as a method of getting images online that otherwise might not see the light of day. I’ve created an image dump. I may at some point create a dedicated section of the website specifically for this, but who gives a shit either way? I’ve been working hard recently on going through all of my old posts and re-formatting images, cleaning up a bunch of code, nailing SEO, and improving ‘my readability’.
Creating posts with decent “Search Engine Optimisation”
WordPress has a fairly cool function that tells you whether your blog posts meet typical standards, and all of mine have failed. Every post has a series of red circles that I am slowly chipping away at to turn into green circles. I suspect just this may take a couple of months of effort. Then there’s re-designing and rebuilding my whole site.
One of the requirements for ‘good readability’ and ‘SEO’ is having a minimum of 300 words in a post. So as you can see I’m putting in some effort to pad it out. I had intended to just post a bunch of images but I’m on a mission to turn all of my red circles green. I’ve also had to add alt tags to all of my images and include the key phrase “image dump” a number of times throughout the post.
My mission to maximise my SEO and to start getting hits on my website again is a long one, but it’s one I plan to finish. Wish me luck!
