A gentle reminder
Lockdown is hard for everybody. If you are one of the riskier few that like to break some rules, you have better keep quiet about it on social media. Curtains are twitching, people are ratting on each other left and right. Police raids on homes with slightly loud music. Sneaking from house to house in the back of an Uber. Memories of the lockdown will be rose-tinted for a lot of people. But god if it isn’t boring. Twiddling your thumbs, looking for something to do which isn’t drinking a taster crate of micro-brewery beer you’ve signed up for online. Playing through every possible game you own. Setting up an online side hustle. Pretending to work most of the day until your boss puts mouse-tracking software on your work laptop.
Lockdown is fucking boring. Alcohol, drugs, and sneaky AF parties are the only remedy to prevent mental decline.
To take your medicine
Relationships fleeting, friends the new family
New faces hard to come by, joy a gasp for air
Hangovers feel pointless unless the misery is shared
Fun hard to find when you’re locked inside
Locked inside with your mind
Too cold to leave and too draining to stay
The answer? Drink wine and find a liked mind to shine
Take your medicine
Don’t do drugs kids, but if you do, don’t do them alone.
