Skux Punk for VICE International Cassette Day

Big Bux for the Skux

Tasked with shooting a punk rock band in a small music venue in the centre of Auckland City. I head out with low expectations, but I am rewarded with some wonderful creative talent in the name of Skux. With free beer and above all else, great music. I took home an ironic gift, a cassette mix-tape that I couldn’t listen to.

The venue Cassette Nine is famous for its cheap teapot cocktails. I wasted many an evening getting messed up whilst pretending to be fancy.

Skux (the lead singer’s moniker) also hosts a radio show and participates in wildlife conservation which is pretty cool.

Skux is still around doing some cool stuff. Check out their Facebook here, their IG here and their Bandcamp here.
