Small Venues Are Still The Future of Music

Contemplating the future of music fills me with both trepidation and excitement. I question my own creative prowess, wondering if I have lost touch with the essence of musical expression. Nonetheless, I vow to continue posting my recent work and to occasionally showcase my earlier pieces.

The experience of attending a gig in a small venue is something truly magical. There, the music is raw and unfiltered, and the audience is eagerly embracing new sounds. Unlike the uninspired concert-goers at larger venues, these fans are tastemakers who can quickly determine a band’s worth. Thirdly, they are the true arbiters of musical talent, unconcerned with critics or the music industry’s machinations.

Markedly, as I look back at my recent photographs of a gig at Auckland’s Ding Dong Lounge, I am filled with wonder and optimism for the future of music. Subsequently, these images evoke a sense of raw energy and unbridled passion, reminding us of music’s true power over our emotions and souls. Significantly, it is in these moments of pure, unbridled creativity that we can truly appreciate the beauty and potential of music and the limitless possibilities that lie ahead.

Here are some images that I took in Auckland at a local gig at Ding Dong Lounge a few weeks ago.
